I am trying to set up a ticketing system where users only need to enter a minimum amount of information to create a ticket. I want all new tickets to be initially assigned to the same person, at which time they are approved and delegated to an operator. To achieve this I have used a hidden field to assign new tickets to the same person and it works well.

My problem is that ALL operators receive notifications when new tickets are created, and also when they are reassigned. I would like notifications ONLY to go to the assigned operator.

To achieve this in the setup I have:
- turned off "Show operator selector (new ticket form)"
- ticked "No ticket confirmations"
- ticked "No message confirmations"

In "Group Management" I have made sure that ACCESS CONTROL, HIDE OPERATORS and MULTIPLE GROUPS are ticked.

I originally ticked ENABLE GROUP MODE but this placed the group selector in the new ticket form, which I don't need.

I have also made individual groups for each operator in an effort to cut down who receives email notifications. Can I actually achieve what I'm wanting to achieve or am I chasing my tail?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not an expert on the options I don't use so I'm no help on this question.  However, not wanting a group selector on the New Ticket form does not preclude you from enabling Group Mode.  You can do anything with the form.  It's as simple as removing macros and hard coding the html by hand.  There are a couple tutorials posted in the Mod forum.

This is a very flexible package, I'm sure you'll be able to get close to what you need.

Hopefully Alex will see this thread and jump in.
