Greetings,

I wish to retain all deleted tickets and in previous versions of the software changed the delete to a move function (I put them in a so called deleted folder).  My fear is the custom fields and the changes made to those custom fields.  As this changed data is not stored with the ticket, how do I keep it from being lost when a ticket is deleted.

Is there a way to restrict delete function form operators and make it an admin function?

Regards,

If you use Layout Designer module you may configure up to 10 custom fields to be stored with the ticket (if I got your question right).

By default all operators may delete tickets. You may control who is allowed by adding this line into config file

grant.delete=oper1,oper2,...,operN

where oper1,oper2,...,operN is a comma separated list of operator IDs that are allowed to delete tickets.

Thanks for the quick reply,

Thats great but I want to be able to save the mods made to those ten custom fields when a ticket is deleted.  Any thoughts?

Not sure as to why you may need the partial deletion, however please feel free to contact us for custom programming.

Thank you for the quick reply,

If a customer gives us a new e-mail address and we click the ticket id and update this, the ticket is not modified.  We want to keep all tickets to be able to retreive prior information when necessary and will therefore back up all tickets to a different directory when it comes time to delete them.  The problem is those modifications to the custom fields which are maintained in what appears to be tickets.cgi are deleted in a different manner (eliminating lines instead of files).

Any thoughts?
