Greetings,

I wish to have ticket id numbers refer to the day of the year or the year and month.

ex the first ticket today would be either 20061213xxx1 or 2006348xxx1 or 348xxx1 in the alternative, is there a way to get the ticket number to jump at an increment other than one so that a customer cannot guess a ticket number.

Regards,

Not sure as to what is wrong with a customer guessing a ticket number. I mean the possibility, as something is definitely wrong with such a customer  Smiley

Thank you for the response,

One of the things we use the ticket system for is date related.  If the ticket number is by date, it is easy to guess what the issue is.  We would like to issue tickets by date.

In the alternative, we would like to have the ticket numbers jump by 17.  In a prior version of the script, we modified the number to add the date 20051212 and then had a four digit number starting at 0001.  We do not see a good place to do this in the current version and do not want to break a very good product.

Regards,
