Make sure the script (the web server process running the script) has full access rights to the Trouble Ticket Express data folder (please refer to System Setup form, setup.cgi for exact location of the folder).

I have this error as well for one of our users.

Error acquiring lock (failed to open lock file)

I can login fine using her login on my computer and all the other users seem to be able to login fine.  Her computer can't login using anybody's username/password.

What I meant is that she got the error "Error acquiring lock (failed to open lock file)" when she tried to log in.  In the top left it showed she was logged in but she could not see the tickets.  When (on her computer) we tried other logins I have created that worked for other people, they also had that error.  I was able to login fine using her username/password on my computer and other people had no problems.  Therefore the problem was confined to her computer and occurred for all logins, not just hers.

She can log in today and view the tickets but there is a new problem.  There is an error: "Error writing file" when she tries to create a new ticket from the "Contact us" link.

We have a second person with this same problem as well but everything is working fine for everyone else.

What is your server configuration? I assume Windows + IIS?

Yes! we fixed it.  We use the windows authentication for IIS as well and those users did not have certain permissions for that website (strangely) when everyone else did.  That was a tricky one.

Yeah, Windows Server 2003, IIS 6
