[REQ] Ability to synchronize with Directory Server

I need to be able to synchronize TroubleTicketExpress users with a Directory Server (not sure whether it will be Active Directory of LDAP). I was wondering if you have ever done anything like that or if anyone has tried to do this before? I know the current implementation is the users.cgi file.
